Northshore Health System
In his role as CIO of the North Shore-LIJ Health System, Mr. Bosco oversees the information technology function of a vast enterprise that is the largest integrated healthcare system in New York State and the nation's second-largest, non-profit, secular healthcare system. The winner of the National Quality Forum’s 2010 National Quality Healthcare Award, the North Shore-LIJ Health System delivers clinical care at 15 hospitals and more than 200 ambulatory care centers throughout the New York metropolitan area, pioneering research at The Feinstein Institute for Medical Research and a visionary approach to medical education, highlighted by the Hofstra North Shore-LIJ School of Medicine. North Shore-LIJ’s owned facilities house over 5,000 beds, employ more than 10,000 nurses and have affiliations with more than 9,000 physicians. Its workforce of more than 42,000 is the largest on Long Island and the ninth largest in New York City.
Mr. Bosco joined the North Shore–LIJ Health System in 2004 in the role of Vice President and Chief Technology Officer with responsibility for developing the strategic technology direction and plan for the healthcare system. In addition, he oversaw the daily operations of the Information Technology department.
Prior to joining the North Shore–LIJ Health System, Mr. Bosco was a senior Information Technology (I.T.) Executive with Capgemini Ernst & Young in their Outsourcing Services division, with extensive experience in I.T. service delivery management, technical management and systems development. At Capgemini Mr. Bosco was responsible for directing a large staff of I.T. professionals providing system development services and maintenance/support to multiple healthcare clients. He also held positions in account management, with total P&L responsibility for Outsourcing engagements.
Before joining Capgemini he held the position of Associate Vice President, Information Technology for Continuum Health Partners, a major health system in New York City consisting of seven hospitals with annual revenue in excess of $2B. In this role he had responsibility for I.T. service delivery and systems development. He also spent several years at New York University Medical Center in a senior I.T. leadership position, and has held positions in the banking and publishing industries.
Mr. Bosco has extensive contract negotiation experience and excellent customer and supplier relationships. He has more than twenty-five years experience in information technology management, primarily in the healthcare industry.
