Medical Director, Surgical Weight Management Program Bernard J. Benedetto, MD, is board certified in general surgery and fellowship-trained in minimally invasive and bariatric surgery. He performs laparoscopic gastric bypass, gastric band and sleeve gastrectomy procedures. He also has experience performing endoscopic anti-reflux surgery, colon resection, hernia repair and surgical endoscopy. Dr. Benedetto is a graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Medicine and completed his surgical residency at Tufts University/Baystate Medical Center. He completed a fellowship in surgical critical care at the University of North Carolina, as well as a fellowship in minimally invasive bariatric surgery at Albany Medical Center in New York.
