Rothman Institute
Non-surgical sports medicine physician R. Robert Franks, Jr., DO, FAOASM, recently joined the Rothman Institute, practicing at its South Philadelphia and Washington Township, NJ, offices.
Dr. Franks specializes in the prevention, diagnoses, treatment and rehabilitation of injuries due to athletic activity. He also is an expert in concussion management and leads the Rothman Institute’s new Concussion Program.
Dr. Franks is actively involved in both clinical and basic science research. He has presented both locally and nationally, giving numerous presentations about head trauma and concussions in athletes. He is the author of several articles in sports encyclopedias and journals.
He currently serves as a team physician for USA wrestling and a number of area high schools.
